WHAC Juniors Excel in Kid’s Cross Country Series

The Athletics Wellington Kid’s Cross Country Series ended last Sunday with a “Mini Mountain Run” hosted by our Club.

The course was challenging and it was very slippery in places, but the event was very popular amongst the athletes (though possibly not with the parents who had to carry muddy kids home in their cars).

Our success was the result of the hard work of a big group of parent supporters, who marked (and took down) the course, marshalled, officiated, recorded, and barbequed! A willing team of our younger college athletes escorted the runners as “leaders” and “sweepers”.

Placings: Year 2: Fraser O’Regan-Smith 1st, Year 5: Edie Kozyniak 1st and Maia Wilkinson 3rd. Year 6: Tawhirikura Doyle 1st, Year 7: Maali Kyle-Ford 3rd, Year 8: Kirstie Rae 1st, Petra Clarkson 3rd. Callum Hancock 1st.
