Harriers pick up four titles at Shaw Baton Relays

Wellington Harriers took home four titles at the annual Shaw Baton Relays hosted by Olympic Harriers over the weekend. WHAC claimed victory in both the Under 12 and Under 14 Girls grades, Master Men 50+ and Junior Men. Fantastic conditions greeted athletes with WHAC’s Julian Baker and Kieron McDonald recording the top two fastest times of the day.

McIlroy Selected for Glasgow Commonwealth Games

Triathlon New Zealand announced today a team of six athletes to compete at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Included in the team WHAC’s Kate McIlroy who has been selected for both the Women’s Individual and Mixed Relay. This will be Mcllroy’s second Games having competed in Melborne (2006) in the 3000m Steeplechase. While Mcllroy has turned her focus to triathlon since 2009 she still has close ties to the club and has been known to throw on club colours at National Road Relays over the last few years.
